Emory & Henry Student, Lillian Minix, Debates "Ethics and Health Care"

Lillian Minix from Salem, Va. will travel with four other Emory & Henry College students to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. to participate in The Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges 15th annual statewide collegiate Wells Fargo Ethics Bowl. This event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 9 and Monday, February 10.

The opening and closing ceremonies will happen in Randolph-Macon's Blackwell Auditorium. The debates are happening in the Brock Commons and Estes Dining Hall on Randolph- Macon's campus.

The faculty coordinators for the team are Dr. Ben Letson, associate professor of Philosophy and Dr. Brynn Welch, assistant professor of Philosophy.

Emory & Henry's team of students will debate various case studies focusing on ethical dilemmas. Notable personalities in the areas of business, law, education, finance, and journalism will be present to listen to team presentations and offer feedback.

The team from E&H hopes to return to Exit 26 with the VFIC Ethics Bowl trophy. The winner of the event will be announced at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, February 10.

Emory & Henry College's competition includes the 14 other members of the VFIC that was founded in 1952. The Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges is a nonprofit fund-raising partnership supporting the programs and students of leading independent colleges in the Commonwealth.
